Who We Are

Bullet Operation
Northeast Technology Center (NTC) is under the administration and supervision of a duly elected Board of Education in cooperation with the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
Bullet Accreditation
The full-time daytime programs offered at Northeast Technology Center are approved by the Oklahoma State
Department of Education and the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, and are fully accredited by the North Central Association for Colleges and Secondary Schools. The Division of Practical Nursing is also approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, 61 Broadway 33rd Floor, New York, NY 10006, 212-363-5555, ext. 153. The Division of Cosmetology is also approved by the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology. The accreditation certificate from the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education is displayed in the administration building of each campus. Other certifications, licenses or approval may be reviewed in the office of the assistant superintendent or accredited program at the respective campuses.
Bullet Admission Requirements
Northeast Technology Center operates under the concept of open enrollment. All persons sixteen years of age or older are eligible for admission. Students may enroll anytime during the school year in any program that has an opening.
Bullet Previous Credits
Students entering NTC may be given credit for any previous training or education. The student must provide a transcript of training or education to NTC for evaluation. All credit given will be placed on the student's NTC transcript.
Bullet Services to the Handicapped
All buildings and parking lots on all campuses are accessible to handicapped persons. Any handicapped person requiring specific information should call the students services department at the prospective campus.
Bullet Persons Designated to Provide Student Consumer Information
The Directors of Student Services are designated as the employees responsible for disbursing information to current and prospective students at Northeast Technology Center. They are available 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. These directors may be reached at their respective campuses.
Bullet Information for the High School Student
Students attending Northeast Technology Center can earn three elective credits per school year if course requirements are met at their high school. The credits earned at the technology center are issued by the sending school on the high school transcript. Students may attend Northeast Technology Center in either the morning session, which runs from 8:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., or the afternoon session, which runs from 12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. The remainder of the day is spent at the home high school. Bus transportation is provided from the home high school to the tech center and back. Students may also drive their personal vehicles.
Students who attend a high school located within the five-county technology district may attend daytime classes free of charge. To enroll, students simply complete an application and return it to their home school or the tech center as soon as possible. Registration for classes begins in late January for the following fall term.
Bullet Information for the Adult Student
Post-secondary adult students must complete an application to be considered for admission. Adults living within the technology center district pay a tuition fee; adults living outside the district pay double the fee. In order to complete a 1050-hour program, adult students may attend either three hours per day for two years of six hours per day for one year. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.

Bullet Student Life
You will find your training at Northeast Tech to be different than what you may have expected. Since our goal is to teach you a skill and make you job ready, many of our programs are run as places of business to give you as much of a sense of actually being on the job as possible. You are treated as an employee would be treated and are expected to perform up to industry standards in terms of job performance and professional conduct. Many programs do “live work” which means you will be actually working on customers’ vehicles or performing professional services for them. Many times you will work alone; many times you will work with a partner or a part of a team. The skills and habits you develop here can greatly benefit you later when on-the-job in the real world, and can lead to advancement, promotion, and increased pay.
Bullet Grading Scale
  100 - 90 = A;    89 - 80 = B;    79 - 70 = C;    69 - 60 = D;    BELOW 60 = F
I = Incomplete W = Withdrawal
Bullet Attendance Policy
Much of the training you will receive at Northeast Tech is “hands-on” and, if missed, cannot be made up with makeup assignments. Therefore, regular attendance is very important, much like being at work everyday is important to your employer. High School students enrolled at Northeast Tech will be expected to be at Northeast when it is in session regardless of whether their home school is in session or not.
Bullet Re-Admission
Any student dropped from Northeast Tech due to grades or non-attendance may re-apply to the Director of Student Services after being out one full semester. After viewing the student’s record, the director may re-admit the student. If re-admitted, he/she will be on probation for the first 9 weeks of the semester. At the end of the probation period, grades and attendance will be checked. If the student has maintained a “C” average and been in attendance according to the attendance policy, he/she will be considered to be in good standing and eligible for continued enrollment with no additional requirements imposed.
Bullet Career Guidance
A wide range of counseling services are available at each campus. Counselors work with students on program selection, interpersonal values to attain skill development, and development of employability skills. They also provide group and individual counseling and referral to appropriate community agencies in crisis situations. Career guidance is the systematic education of students in the knowledge, attitudes and skills that will be
required of them at future points in the selection and planning of their educational programs while preparing them for work.

Career Guidance helps students learn about their interest, abilities, work values, and aspirations. It gives students opportunities to investigate occupations, make decisions, and help them select courses that will prepare them for additional education and training or employment after graduation from high school. Career guidance services are available through the Carl Perkins Counseling Cooperative between local school districts and Northeast Technology Center. Funding is provided by the Carl Perkins Vocational Technology Act of 1990.

Bullet Academic Resource Center (ARC)
For the student who wants to advance and better himself or herself, the ARC offers many computer programs and personalized instruction designed to enable the student to attain entry-level basic skills or to advance in his/her chosen field of expertise. Through self-paced, customized programs, the computer opens up the world to the student in areas such as math and science, language, basic competencies, computer education, pre-employment and work maturity skills, resume writing, job application procedures and personal finance. Visits to the ARC are scheduled as a regular part of the course work at Northeast Technology Center.

The ARC is also available in the evening for industry and community use. Various programs can be adapted for employees to use in the job setting. Rates and scheduling information may be obtained by calling Northeast Tech.

Bullet Job Placement
Throughout your training we invite you to take advantage of our job placement and support services. As part of our curriculum you will learn valuable skills in developing employability strategies. You will have opportunities to enhance your job seeking skills in the classroom and the Educational Enhancement Center. Involvement in student organizations will prepare you in job interviewing skills and interpersonal communications. Northeast Technology Center’s services to our students do not stop when the training experience is completed. Our Counselors, Education Enhancement Center, personnel and instructors are here to serve you now and anytime in the future as needed for job support.
