Program
Overview |
Eighty
percent of all the repairs being done on today's
vehicles fall under the category of maintenance and
light repair. Most companies involved in warranty work
require their technicians to have some type of
certification. The Automotive Maintenance and Light
Repair program at Northeast Technology Center offers you
a quick, low-intensity opportunity to enter the
challenging world of automotive service. You will
acquire the necessary skills to perform regular
maintenance, minor or light repairs, and parts
installation on all types of automobiles and light
trucks. Your successful completion of this program will
reward you with certificates of completion and classroom
credit for basic electrical systems, brakes. and
steering/suspension which will allow you to enter the
work force at a higher salary. This program was
developed by the Ford Motor company to equip students
with the basic skills needed to gain employment as a
Maintenance and Light Repair Technician.
The 900-hour program is comprised of classroom theory,
shop work and multi-media computer training. The first
semester of class will meet on
Monday through Wednesday from 8:30am to 4pm. Thursday
through Saturday, students have the opportunity to work
for a sponsoring dealership or other technical repair
business to gain on-site experience. |
