Individuals
who are skilled in welding will find career opportunities in several
occupational areas. In this program students learn the skills necessary
to get a good-paying job in the industrial, construction or agricultural
fields. The Welding Certification Test will be given on campus to qualifying
students as part of the course curriculum.

In Oklahoma, job openings represent
new job growth and replacements caused by employees leaving the
occupation, promotions, etc. In 1996, welders and cutters held
approximately 7,960 jobs in Oklahoma. They are expected to hold
approximately 9,680jobs by the year 2012.
